  • Our first productions aimed at this region were Croatian, Czech, and Hungarian – all of which started in 1975.

  • High emigration rates in this region of the world hinder many countries’ ability to recover after years of repressive Communist rule.

  • Islam is the largest religion in Albania – some sources have it as high as 70%. And in Bulgaria, Muslim missionaries outnumber Christian ones.

  • The Romani (Gypsy) community is scattered throughout Europe – mostly Spain, France, Romania, and Hungary where they are the largest minority group.

    Our Bulgarian team requests prayer for a spiritual awakening in Bulgaria, where people are becoming more and more indifferent to Christianity. Pray that TTB would be an effective missionary tool for reaching the unsaved and a source of biblical education among believers who need to grow in their faith.

    Many of our listeners in Central Europe are facing instability and financial hardship in their circumstances. Ask the Lord to use the TTB broadcasts to deepen their trust in God.

    Ask God to bless our ministry to the millions of Roma (Gypsies) scattered across Europe. They are often treated as outcasts in the societies in which they live. Our broadcasts in the Romani language minister hope to millions who feel rejected and devalued.

    Most Roma are illiterate, so their only way to learn the gospel is to hear it. Through our cooperative ministry relationship with TWR, many radios have been distributed in Gypsy communities. Pray for God to use TTB-Romani programs to introduce many to the saving hope of Jesus Christ and to deepen their knowledge of the Word of God.

    Many of the countries of Central Europe suffered for decades under Communist rule. While increasing levels of freedom have come to many people in this part of Europe, many of these countries have a long road of recovery ahead of them as they continue to face the devastating effects of atheistic Communism. Pray for open ears and minds and that the Holy Spirit would soften hearts to accept God’s gift of salvation through grace.

    Albania used to be one of the hardest line Communist countries in the world, and today they have total religious freedom. But some sources indicate that 70% of the country is Muslim! Pray for our Albanian broadcasts as we present God's Word to millions of confused people who need to hear the truth.
